 Students are being exposed to media throughout their daily lives and from a very early age.  In this class, we will explore the effects of different forms of media through different developmental periods.  We will explore the research about  the role of media with regards to body image, alcohol/drugs/tobacco use, sexuality, violence, etc.  You will learn what is myth vs. truth with regards to media and learn more about the impact the media has on your students' and their daily lives.  By taking this course,  you will find ways to use media to enhance your classroom environment and motivate your students.  

This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 45 hours of professional development.
